Reality check: In Hoi An, expect mostly flat, easy walking and optional cycling with minimal physical strain, though heat and crowds can be tiring. Old Town involves moderate walking (1–3 hrs) on flat streets; can be crowded but not physically demanding. The main challenge is humidity + sun, which can feel tiring even without much activity.

- You land in Da Nang, drive south to Hoi An and notice how palm trees blur past and the coast opens up beside you.

- Afternoon eases into a deep intro circle. Not another LinkedIn bio session, just the moments that rewired how you think. The risks, the pivots, the bets you took that didn't make sense to anyone else.

- You're placed in an Agency, a small circle of four or five people. You walk them through what's stuck. They ask the questions that crack it open.
- You do the same for them. By late afternoon, everyone's left with clarity: their Ask (what they need) and their Offer (what they're bringing).

- You then craft your own paper lantern, write something on it and release it onto the Thu Bon River. Dozens of lights drift downstream together.

- Morning kicks off with the Creative Marketplace. One by one, each person shares their challenge, their ask, their offer with the full tribe.

Imperial Walls and Questions Over Countryside Roads.
- Early start as we pile into jeeps, wind through mountain passes and coastal roads toward Hue.
- We arrive by midday: ancient citadel walls, empty courtyards, stone bridges over lotus ponds. Imperial history that invites quiet instead of commentary.
- Tribe Dates continue the flow. These conversations will offer you a different lens on your current life stage, some happen at local lunch spots, others against temple walls.

- Afternoon is yours: explore the Japanese Covered Bridge, get a suit tailored in four hours, rent a bike and disappear into rice fields.
- Then: Hack Circle where 30+ tools and frameworks are shared rapid-fire, someone drops the exact resource that's been missing from your stack.

Goodbyes Linger. The Tribe Doesn't Leave.
- Morning stretches. Breakfast bleeds into long goodbyes and corner conversations that don't want to end.
- The tribe gathers one final time: a closing circle where residents name what landed and what they're taking home.

Who usually travels with Experience Co.?+
Across the 12 months ending 29 July 2026, our travelled groups were close to balanced, with about 55% women and 44% men. The median traveller was 34 and the median group had 9 people. That is a historical snapshot, not a promise about the mix on a specific edition.
What makes Experience Co. trips different?+
We design each edition around the destination rather than using a standard tour template. The usual rhythm is one or two experiences a day, with room to take the place in instead of rushing through a checklist.
Can adults of any age apply?+
Yes. Anyone aged 18 or older can apply. Our groups often skew from the late 20s to early 40s, but fit, energy and the experience itself matter more than fitting a narrow age band.
Can I travel with a friend or partner?+
Yes. You can apply solo or with someone you know.
What exactly is included vs excluded in the trip price?+
Included: private lantern boat experience, Jeep road trip to Hue and back, basket boat ride, and group accommodation/activities as per itinerary. Excluded: international flights, visa & travel insurance, meals not specified, personal shopping/tips, airport transfers, solo excursions, and personal meals/drinks. Basically — the core experience is covered, personal extras are on you.
Will I have WiFi and phone connectivity in Vietnam?+
Yes — grab a local SIM at the airport on arrival (around USD 5-10 for a tourist SIM with decent data) or use an eSIM if your phone supports it. Most cafes, hotels, and restaurants in Hoi An have free WiFi too, so staying connected won't be a problem.
How do we get around in Hoi An — is transport included?+
Local transport for included activities (like the Jeep road trip to Hue and back, boat rides) is covered. For getting around town on your own — think Grab (Vietnam's Uber equivalent), rented bicycles, or walking, since Hoi An's Old Town is very walkable. Airport transfers are NOT included, so plan your own pickup or coordinate with the group.
What happens in an emergency — who do I contact?+
Every group has a dedicated ExCo trip lead on-ground with local emergency contacts, nearest hospital info, and 24/7 support. You'll get an emergency contact card at trip briefing with local numbers plus our India-based support line. Also — please don't skip travel insurance, it's excluded from the trip cost but essential for peace of mind.
What's the weather like in Hoi An in early May?+
Early May sits at the edge of Vietnam's dry-to-wet transition — expect hot, humid days (28-34°C) with occasional short rain showers, especially in the afternoons. It won't be full monsoon season yet, so plan for sun most days but keep a light rain jacket handy just in case.
How fit do I need to be for this trip? It's rated Activity Level 3.+
Activity Level 3 means moderate activity — think walking tours, boat rides, and a full-day road trip to Hue. Nothing extreme, but you should be comfortable walking for extended periods, some uneven terrain, and being on your feet for a few hours a day. If you can handle a full day of sightseeing without needing constant rest stops, you're good.
Is alcohol easily available, and is it included in the trip?+
Alcohol is widely available and affordable in Hoi An — local beer (Bia Hoi) costs as little as USD 0.50 a glass! However, drinks aren't included in the trip price — that's on your personal tab. Just drink responsibly during group activities, especially before the Jeep road trip and boat experiences.
I'm vegetarian/vegan — will I survive food-wise in Hoi An?+
Totally! Hoi An is very veg-friendly with tons of dedicated vegetarian and vegan restaurants (Vietnamese food uses a lot of fresh veggies, tofu, and herbs). Just flag your dietary preference to us in advance so we can adjust included meals. Street food has options too, but always double-check for fish sauce if you're strict vegan — it sneaks into a lot of dishes.
What should I pack for Hoi An in early May?+
Expect hot, humid weather — 28-34°C with possible rain showers. Pack lightweight breathable clothing, a rain jacket or poncho, comfortable walking shoes (you'll be on your feet a lot), swimwear for the beach and basket boat ride, sunscreen, a hat, and a power bank. Modest clothing is handy for temple visits. Don't overpack — laundry services are cheap and easy to find.
The edition price is USD 992.75 — what extra budget should I actually keep?+
Good question — that price covers the core experience, but keep aside extra for: international flights, visa (~INR 2500), travel insurance, personal meals not on the itinerary, drinks/alcohol, shopping, and tips. Realistically, budget an additional USD 300-400 for a comfortable 6-day trip in Hoi An, more if you love souvenirs or nightlife.
Do I need a visa for Vietnam, and how much will it cost?+
Yes, Indian passport holders need a visa for Vietnam. For BHX Vietnam, budget around INR 2500 for your visa — we'll guide you through the process, but it's on you to apply (usually e-visa, takes 3-5 working days). Sort this at least 2-3 weeks before departure so you're not stressing last minute.
