Here’s the candid Story of BHX™…

Frankly, we started BHX™ back in 2016 out of a very selfish reason - because we wanted to hang out with some of the coolest creators in the country. However, we weren’t too sure if the Indian Creator needed a creative residency back then because it was a format that was fairly untouched in the country.

What took us by surprise though was close to 600 creators applied for the very first edition - from 9 different countries. That made us realise that a second-best alternative to a creative residency for them was to enrol themselves in a summer school either in the States or Europe, but that’s ridiculously unaffordable for the vast majority.

Exactly why and when BHX™ was born.

6 years later, we are about to host our 50th edition but the idea continues to remain the same for every residency. To bring a mix of 20 completely diverse creators from across India to grow their creative journeys.

How do we do that?

Spilling a little secret here. Today, on average, we receive anywhere between 650-800 creators applying for each edition. Post curation we choose to send an invite out to roughly about 35-40 creators only (When we say it out loud, it feels kinda criminal that we cannot bring on board close to 90-95% of the people applying)

But honestly, we are actually looking for the 5% of creators who are diverse from the others we’ve shortlisted so far, and more importantly, the ones with the strongest intent to grow.
